A Blind Guardian új stúdióalbuma csak 2021 őszére várható, viszont Karácsonyra kihoztak egy különleges felvételt, a Slade klasszikus karácsonyi dalának feldolgozását.
Hansi Kürsch énekes a Merry Xmas Everybody feldolgozásáról: „Szerintem ezzel a dallal a Slade elkészítette a mindent vivő karácsonyi nótát, egy időtlen, vidám dalt, épp a kellő mennyiségű gagyisággal – szinte megközelíthetetlen a maga stílusában. A Kürsch-birodalomban tilos karácsonyi dalokat nyomatni az adventi időszak előtt, de mivel ez a felvétel november közepén született, kénytelen voltam megszegni a szabályt.
Ezzel a feldolgozással a tiszteletünket is szeretnénk kifejezni a Slade nevű glam rock Mikulások előtt. Noha az eredeti verzió úgy tökéletes, ahogy van, a refrénjét szinte a Blind Guardianre szabták, hiszen mi aztán elég jól értjük, hogy mi is az a monumentalitás. Akkor hát mi értelme a virslinek és a krumplisalátának, ha karácsonyi kacsát is ehetsz? Nos, ezt inkább döntsd el magad… Mindenkinek Boldog Karácsonyt!„
Az idén 25 éves Imaginations From The Other Side című Blind Guardian lemez nemrég egy jubileumi kiadást kapott, masszív módon, kiegészítve egy 2016-os oberhauseni buli felvételével. Az Imaginations… lemez új kiadása instrumentális verziókkal, demófelvételekkel együtt jelent meg.
